Hello, my name is Katherine and I’ll be your guide on this tour of the Grand Canyon presented by Insight Guides, which includes some of the most interesting spots in Grand Canyon Village, followed by a drive along the Hermit Road, taking in some of the best views along the South Rim. This is a driving tour that will take around two hours to complete, depending on how much time you want to spend enjoying the views or maybe doing a little hiking.You can stop at any time and start again at the same spot later. You can follow the route on your phone or simply listen as I guide you from one sight to the next. I’ll be giving you clear directions and the audio will automatically start playing when you get close to the next sight on the tour. Don’t worry if you need to skip a sight as the tour will pick up at the next location. One more thing before we get started – always be aware of your surroundings, watch for other traffic, and be sure to obey all warning signs.Due to the potential lack of GPS signal in the area, it is recommended that you select manual mode in the app's settings before leaving, so that you can trigger the audio manually if it does not start automatically.The Grand Canyon is truly one of the most awe-inspiring places on the planet. It was created over a period of about 17 million years by the Colorado River weaving its way through the canyon. Of course the wind and rain later also affected its features. Sometimes it's hard to take in just how vast the canyon is, especially when we can only see one small part of it at any one time – though I recommend taking a flight over the canyon sometime, if you get chance.
